Hi overlanding and Africa lovers, my name is Mark and I want to take the time to introduce you to Routes Rediscovered.
Whilst much of the story of how Routes Rediscovered ‘took roots’ can be found in our ‘ábout’ section of our website I still wanted to take a little time to introduce you to origins of my little overlanding love child and from there then take a deeper dive in to what we offer at Routes Rediscovered and how we can assist you in your overlanding, expedition and adventure holidays through Africa.
The goal of Routes Rediscovered was born out of my desire to share with you my passion for Africa, being deeply aware that every adventure and expedition is a transformative experience. This dream started with Satori Africa, a luxury safari company, where guests of ours have enjoyed safaris throughout sub-Saharan Africa (and more recently further afield) for the last 10 years.
Through exploring this continent I have learnt that travelling through Africa is not only a discovery of her landscapes, people, fauna and flora but is also a journey of self-discovery. Understanding the purpose of your journey and what you want to get out of the experience, is key to me and my team in helping plan your very own trip.
It is with this very thought in mind that we have developed a little matrix on how to make every overlanding trip in Africa a memorable one. This matrix speaks to ‘The Machine’, ‘The Mind’ and ‘The Mission’. What makes us even more excited is that we have grown our little overlanding dream team to cover all those bases. In the machine, we have Paul Marsh, a global authority on overlanding expeditions and the creative and engineering genius behind some of the most beautiful and well thought out overlanding vehicles being built. The beauty and the brains behind the ‘people mechanics’ is Jo Marsh, who alongside preparing clients to mentally ready for their trips through Africa also steers the ship for Essence of Overlanding and Shift & Flow. Lastly, we have the mission, and with that is where our job at Routes Rediscovered comes into play whereby we hope to fuel the passion and planning behind each expedition, ensuring your trip is not just a drive, but a meaningful, well-orchestrated adventure.
